After getting a lot of success from the smartphone, Xiaomi decided to enter into personal computer market this year 2016. The Xiaomi began with it’s first Mi Notebook Air which was available in July 2016.
Now it’s time to come to light that Xiaomi is going to introduce an updated version of Mi Notebook Air device. You might be thinking that you will not able to get any news about new Mi notebook device until the next year. But Xiaomi thinks differently and make this happen this year.
New Xiaomi laptop model is just ready and going to lunch in Beijing on Friday, 23rd of December. You may know that, Xiaomi already lauch in pakistan and start offering their products through Official Online Flagship Store so their new product will also be available in Pakistan very soon.
It will be released in the next year 2017, but the price will be different because of overpriced import duty and Taxes.
Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air is available in two various sizes, a 12.5-inch model and a 13-inch model, which also sport different internals. The Mi Notebook is design look like the Apple’s MacBook Air, and Xiaomi didn’t hide this truth from their customers. Xiaomi mentioned these similarities and said that:
“we can’t ignore how it shares similarities to Apple’s MacBook Air, something Xiaomi is not even ashamed of hiding as it is evident in even the naming.”
In an event, Xiaomi going to showcase the new model of Mi Notebook Air which will have the 4G module for 4G support SIMs. You can take a look a 4G network signal in at the bottom right corner of the above screen Image. This seems to indicate that the company is surely going to add 4G router.
The invitation also has Xiaomi’s logo and China Mobile’s logo on it. Few of sources says that there is a chance this is just a 4G version of original Mi notebook and there isn’t anything more. But we, however, don’t want to rule out the fact that there should be more features and additional changes.
Xiaomi Air book have different features and specification for it’s both model sizes. Let’s have a look each one by one.
This model includes an Intel Core m3 processor and has 4GB of RAM. It contains 128GB SSD but doesn’t have GPU. It does include a PCI-E slot which allows you to add GPU. To connect USB device, it includes one USB port.
The bigger screen size version houses an Intel Core i5 6200U processor. It has double RAM 8GB as compared to the smaller model. I also have the double volume of 256 GB SSD drive for more storage. A dedicated Nvidia GTX 940 MX GPU also included for better graphics and gaming purpose. The model also has 2 USB 3.0 ports.
Both models look good according to speciation but the 12.5 inch one has lasted longer on battery as compared to a bigger model of Mi notebook. That is one of plus points over larger version. Both versions come with Window 10.
The 12.5-inch model is currently price tag at $525 and $750 for its 13-inch model. A New 4G enable design is sure to increase the price unless Xiaomi decreases the price of the non-4G models and keep the new 4G model at the original price.
Of course, the prices will be the lot more in Pakistan, and the small model may cost you at least Rs 65,000/, and for the bigger model, it will be around 90,000/- which look like way more.
